My Story

My name is Stanton Roberts, and I am a Professional Golfer. At just a year old, I received my first golf clubs and impressed many by hitting golf balls in between running strides. As I grew up, progressing in my knowledge and passion of the game of golf, I rallied up a few friends and created the first golf team at my middle school in Alabama, even encouraging new competition among other middle schools in the region, despite a general lack of interest in those around me.

As I played more and more, I learned to handle moving schools and environments to end up on a 6A Championship golf team in Midlothian, Texas, contributing my scores as a top-5 player from my first semester in 2011 until I graduated in 2013.

My first semester in college was a good learning experience, in being able to work out and practice with much more experienced golfers, but was cut short due to a car wreck in the Spring semester of 2014. I had to move closer to family to finish school, graduating from The University of Auburn at Montgomery in December of 2016 with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Business Management. During this time, I rehabilitated myself and spent many hours practicing and working on my game, despite physical limitations. I competed as an Amateur in the Gulf Coast Professional Tour, Southeastern Collegiate Golf Tour, Atlanta Pro Tour, and the Golf Channel Amateur Tour for 1.5 years.

After my graduation, I packed my bags once again and moved to Fort Worth, Texas, to start graduate school and my professional career. Making my pro debut at Texas Star Golf Course on the Fairway Pro Golf Tour in March of 2017, I placed 2nd and went on to cash 4 more checks that year being entirely self-funded while enrolled full time at UTD and working at a golf course part time.

This upcoming year, I will be graduating with an MBA in Corporate Finance from the Naveen Jindal School of Management in May of 2019, turning 24 years old, and will devote all of my resources and time to playing golf professionally. The trials and tribulations of my past have proven to me that golf is my love in this world, and I will overcome any obstacle to play and succeed in the sport. I am proud to say that I am in a position in my life to be able to confidently, and comfortably, pursue my life-long dream of being a professional golfer.
